El Duende

El Duende

After being discharged from a psychiatric hospital in Canada and emotionally tormented for years due to the tragic loss of her oldest child, a mother returns to her native Colombia with her husband and remaining son in search for a place to rebuild their lives. Surrounded by incommensurable virgin forests, she is confronted by an ancient indigenous myth that materializes into an evil spirit that haunts her, conjuring images of an abandoned and dead child that wants to return to his mother. Her husband, questioning her mental stability, dismisses her fears. She struggles to find the truth—are they really in danger? And from whom?
